Artist of the Month: Linda Aldrich
Hello, my name is Linda Aldrich. I was chosen as this month's Artist of the month to display my wreaths. I have never considered myself an artist, but, I guess I am kind of!
I am a native South Dakota girl, born and raised here. I was married and raised my 3 children in Hill City. I graduated from Nursing school in 1986 and worked in the nursing profession for 31 years. I retired 5 years ago and found myself with a lot of time on my hands. My best friend of 50 years makes wreaths and had encouraged me for many years to do it...so, a couple years ago I began to make wreaths. At first, giving them as gifts. That quickly changed into making and selling them. I have progressed a lot in the quality of my work. I learn something new every day. I love to try new things and the feeling of accomplishment I get from doing something well. I hope my creations bring joy to people and more than anything I want to bless people with my work. When I’m doing a special order, I pray for whomever the wreath is going to. I am a Christian, and my faith guides my life. Thank you for taking the time to look at some of my creations! I make other things besides wreaths including some crocheted items, as well as some sewing projects. I enjoy crafting as it keeps me busy and helps me pass the time. My husband and I are residents here in Piedmont, and truly love the rural life! We consider this God’s country!
