2013 One Book South Dakota author Danielle Sosin will appear in Piedmont on Sunday, September 15, as a part of a summer-long book tour and for Piedmont to celebrate the municipal water project!

Sosin, whose novel “The Long-Shining Waters,” is the 2013 One Book South Dakota, is making four week-long tours throughout the state prior to her appearance at the South Dakota Festival of Books in Deadwood Sept. 20-22 (www.sdbookfestival.com).
The Duluth, Minn. resident and past Festival of Books presenter is traveling to one region of the state each month.

The upcoming discussion will be held at Piedmont Valley Elementary, Old School Gym at 2 PM. There will be lots of food and other activities planned.

Members of the public are invited to attend this free event!

In “The Long-Shining Waters,” Sosin weaves an intricate tale revolving around Lake Superior. At each tour stop, Ms. Sosin will discuss various themes related to her novel, answer readers’ questions and sign books. The novel’s content provides numerous opportunities for discussion of the 2013 SDHC programming theme of water, along with many other issues.

This program was made possible with a grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
